Position
The Web Developer designs, builds, and maintains high quality web applications that support CAST’s digital ecosystem. This includes public facing websites, cloud based services, customer portals, online stores, and collaboration tools that extend the capabilities of CAST’s core products. The role requires strong technical skills, structured thinking, and the ability to write clean, efficient, and well organized web code.
The Web Developer works closely with fellow engineers, QA, Product Management, UX, Marketing, and cross functional partners to deliver features that enhance usability, performance, and the overall customer experience across all CAST digital properties.
Success in this role requires strong problem solving ability, attention to detail, continuous learning, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, agile environment.
Job Description

Demonstrates functional and technical skills by developing and maintaining high quality web applications and services using modern technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, or equivalent frameworks while applying sound architecture principles.

Owns ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and performance optimization for CAST’s public website including UX improvements, SEO considerations, content updates, functionality extensions, and system integrations that support marketing and customer acquisition.

Supports and develops the CAST customer portal by implementing new features, improving workflows, resolving defects, and ensuring secure, reliable access to customer resources, licensing services, and account management tools.

Maintains and enhances CAST’s online web store, ensuring smooth ecommerce workflows including product listings, pricing logic, secure checkout flows, customer authentication, and integration with backend licensing, CRM, and fulfillment systems.

Applies problem solving to diagnose issues across front end and back end systems, debug efficiently, and propose complete, reliable solutions that strengthen platform stability and overall user experience.

Shows learning agility by adopting new frameworks, cloud technologies, automation tools, and CI CD practices as CAST’s digital architecture evolves.

Demonstrates planning and organizing by contributing to sprint planning, estimating tasks accurately, managing development priorities, and delivering work within agreed timelines.

Builds strong peer relationships by collaborating with developers, Product, QA, UX, Marketing, and Operations, asking clarifying questions, participating in code reviews, and supporting shared engineering activities including testing and troubleshooting.

Job Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience developing web based applications using technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Vue, Angular, Node.js, or similar frameworks.

Strong understanding of web architecture including RESTful APIs, authentication models, microservices, and responsive UI development.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud including deployment pipelines and application monitoring.

Knowledge of relational or non relational databases, caching strategies, and data modeling for web applications.

Experience with testing tools and methodologies including unit tests, integration tests, and CI CD workflows.

Strong debugging, analytical, and documentation skills.

Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a high performing engineering team.
