Website Content Strategist (contract)

Remote, United States

At BNY, our culture empowers you to grow and succeed. As a leading global financial services company at the center of the world’s financial system we touch nearly 20% of the world’s investible assets.

We continue to be a leader in the industry, awarded as a top home for innovators and for creating an inclusive workplace. Through our unique ideas and talents, together we help make money work for the world. This is what #LifeAtBNY is all about.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Website Content Strategist/Publisher with hands-on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) expertise to join the Global Marketing & Communications team. This role will focus on digital content publishing, stakeholder interaction, and content management processes within a highly structured, enterprise-grade environment.

This is a contract role designed to support publishing operations rather than provide a one-to-one replacement. The Website Content Publisher will work closely with marketing stakeholders—ranging from managers to directors—while leveraging AEM and Adobe Workfront to manage requests, update pages, and support BAU publishing needs.

We are recruiting for candidates who can work onsite in our Pittsburgh, PA or New York City offices, but will also consider remote candidates who cannot regularly commute to these locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Publish and manage digital content in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) with accuracy and consistency
  • Handle requests in Adobe Workfront, prioritizing and escalating as needed
  • Work with stakeholders (including senior directors) on approvals, requirements, and issue resolution
  • Apply templates, brand standards, and design system to ensure consistency
  • Start with page updates; advance to more complex publishing as skills develop
  • Edit and review content for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with brand voice
  • Partner with marketing, design, and content teams to balance BAU and project work
  • Stay up to date on AEM features, SEO, accessibility, and analytics to drive improvements
  • Troubleshoot publishing issues and coordinate fixes with technical teams
  • Maintain a portfolio of published work to showcase contributions

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise-grade content management systems, with strong preference for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM); AEM certification a plus
  • 2+ years of experience managing web transformations or redesigns
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and front-end publishing practices
  • Strong project management skills, including experience with tools such as Adobe Workfront or Jira
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholder groups independently, escalating appropriately when required
  • Understanding of website analytics (e.g., Adobe Analytics) and ability to interpret data to recommend improvements
  • Familiarity with SEO principles, accessibility standards (WCAG), and UX/UI best practices
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries
  • Proven ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders, balancing differing priorities and expectations
  • Highly proactive, solutions-oriented mindset; able to identify gaps and contribute to process improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage BAU publishing while also supporting project-based work
  • Portfolio showcasing previous publishing work, preferably within AEM environments

Why Join Us:

This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in a robust, enterprise publishing operation that supports a wide range of marketing initiatives. You’ll gain exposure to a structured digital design system, work across multiple stakeholder groups, and develop expertise in both AEM and Workfront. The role is designed to grow with the right candidate, moving from straightforward page publishing to increasingly complex digital projects while helping ensure the web channel continues to deliver best-in-class user experiences.

At BNY, our culture speaks for itself. Here’s a few of our awards:

  • America’s Most Innovative Companies, Fortune, 2024
