We are seeking a motivated and dependable Wheelchair Van Driver to join our transportation team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting clients with mobility challenges to various destinations, ensuring a comfortable and secure experience. Duties

  • Safely operate passenger vans, wheelchair accessible vehicles, and other client transportation vehicles on local routes
  • Assist passengers with boarding, disembarking, and securing mobility devices such as wheelchairs or scooters
  • Follow GPS navigation and route plans to ensure timely arrivals at scheduled destinations
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform routine inspections, and report any maintenance issues promptly
  • Communicate effectively with clients, dispatchers, and team members to coordinate pickups and drop-offs
  • Adhere strictly to all state transportation regulations, traffic laws, and safety protocols during every trip
  • Provide excellent customer service by creating a welcoming environment and addressing passenger needs professionally

Experience

  • Prior experience as a delivery driver, shuttle driver, bus driver, or chauffeur driving passenger vehicles is highly preferred
  • Experience operating passenger vans or client transportation vehicles in compliance with local and state regulations
  • Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and local driving routes for efficient route planning
  • Knowledge of manual handling techniques for assisting passengers with mobility devices or heavy lifting requirements
  • Medical transportation experience or paratransit service background is a plus
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain vehicle safety standards through routine maintenance and inspections
