Wine Server Description

Buckeye Winery has an immediate opening for a Part-time Wine Server.

Our wine servers WITH hourly rate AND including tips average anywhere from $16-$23/hour.

The ideal candidate must have good customer service. Knowledge of wines is helpful.

Hours needed:

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - 3:00/4:00 - 8:00 pm (with the potential to start at 11:00 am on Thursday)

Friday - 3:00/4:00pm - 9:00pm (with approximately every 3rd Friday off)

Saturday - we offer a split shift of 11:00 - 4:00 and a 3:00/4:00 - 9:00, with the occasional all day shift of 11:00-9:00

Approximately: 24-30 Hours/week

The ideal candidate will also be reliable, on time, works well with your peers wanting everyone to succeed and make for the best atmosphere.

We are a dynamic business that needs a high energy, super friendly and reliable individual, who will pour and sell wine and beer, as well as talk to AND educate our customers about wine.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet customers upon entering winery
• Present wine menus and help customers select wine and other beverages
• Pour individual tastings and glasses of wine/beer
• Answer questions or make recommendations of Buckeye Winery products
• Sell bottles of Buckeye Winery wine
• Prepare bills and accept payments on POS system
• Answer phones
• Stock wine racks as needed
• Perform all other related duties as needed, including but not limited to housekeeping duties like washing glasses, tables, trash removal
• Work with other wine servers and kitchen staff with a positive attitude. This is a drama-free environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 21 years of age (alcohol)
• Must have good customer service
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. (case of wine)
• Pleasant, positive and outgoing personality a must
• Reliable, dependable and responsible
• Must have basic computer skills
• Can collect payments and accurately calculate customer’s bills
• Check identification of customers in order to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
• A strong desire to succeed and possess a customer service mindset -Good verbal skills
• Strong sales orientated qualities
• Ability to describe wine products in a way that is pleasant and attractive
• Knowledge of wine (preferred) and/or eagerness to learn
• Previous experience in any of the following areas preferred: winery tasting room, restaurant server, bartender.... HOWEVER, we will be glad to train the right person as long as you enjoy wine!
• Must be able to work in a team environment and can work calmly and effectively under pressure
