The Workday Talent and Performance Management Consultant is responsible for the design, configuration, and ongoing optimization of talent and performance management processes within Workday and related HR systems. This role owns functional decision-making, ensures configuration integrity, and translates business requirements into scalable solutions that support United’s talent strategy.
The role operates at the intersection of HR process design and HR technology, partnering with Talent, HR Solutions, and other stakeholders to drive efficient, consistent, and user-centered processes. It is accountable for both day-to-day system operations and longer-term roadmap planning, ensuring solutions are sustainable, integrated, and aligned to evolving business needs.

Owns end-to-end functional design for talent and performance processes within Workday and adjacent systems. Defines solution architecture, evaluates configuration options, and ensures alignment to business requirements and global standards. Leads implementation of new functionality and enhancements.

Partners with Talent Management and HR to evaluate current processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements. Proactively recommends enhancements aligned to business needs and future roadmap direction.

Provides ongoing operational support for talent and performance processes, ensuring system reliability and process continuity. Troubleshoots issues, resolves defects, and maintains data integrity across Workday and connected systems.

Defines and enforces testing standards, including unit testing and UAT support. Ensures release readiness, manages defects, and validates that system changes meet functional and technical requirements prior to deployment.

Builds and maintains reports, dashboards, and scorecards to provide actionable insights on talent and performance outcomes. Ensures data outputs support decision-making and align with stakeholder needs.

Collaborates with HR Solution, and adjacent system owners to ensure alignment across Talent, Performance, Learning, and broader HCM processes. Evaluates upstream and downstream impacts of changes to maintain system cohesion.

Provides guidance, mentoring, and coaching to Analysts and Senior Analysts. Supports capability development and ensures consistency in execution across the team. Provides backup support across HR Solutions as needed.

High school diploma or equivalent

3+ years of hands-on Workday HCM configuration experience

Ability to work effectively in both structured and unstructured environments, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines

Strong consultative, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear functional requirements

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

The base pay range for this role is $102,220.00 to $133,194.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
