Workforce Relations & Development Manager

This role is ideal for a hands-on HR leader who thrives on building relationships, solving problems, and developing people. You’ll oversee recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and IT coordination, but your impact will go further — driving employee engagement, training, and long-term development.


What this looks like:


Human Resources & Recruiting

  • Lead recruiting efforts and manage the full employee lifecycle (hire, review, exit).
  • Conduct interviews, extend offers, and run onboarding through BambooHR.
  • Keep job descriptions and employee files accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinate annual reviews and partner with supervisors for feedback and growth.

Employee Engagement & Development

  • Build strong relationships across all levels of the company.
  • Develop recognition, training, and career growth programs.
  • Conduct employee engagement surveys and act on feedback.
  • Support team-building activities and culture-building initiatives.

Safety & Compliance

  • Serve as the point of contact for employee concerns, safety, and workplace issues.
  • Manage work comp and vehicle claims, modified duty, and incident investigations.
  • Keep company policies, safety manuals, and training programs current.
  • Track certifications and enroll employees in renewals.

IT & Admin Support

  • Serve as main contact for our IT vendor.
  • Set up workstations, logins, and equipment for new hires.
  • Maintain inventory of company laptops, phones, and technology.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of HR, workforce development, or employee relations experience (construction/field services experience a plus).
  • Knowledge of employment law, compliance, and safety practices.
  • Strong relationship-builder with excellent communication skills.
  • Organized, proactive, and able to balance compliance with culture.
  • Tech-savvy with HRIS (BambooHR preferred) and comfortable managing IT vendors.
