About the Role


As a Workshop Supervisor , you are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring that all work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This includes supervising technicians, scheduling jobs, managing tools and equipment, and maintaining a clean, safe, and productive environment. The supervisor ensures compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and site requirements.


Responsibilities


  1. Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the daily activities of workshop staff (technicians, mechanics, fabricators, and other trades within the workshop/maintenance department).
  2. Allocate resources effectively to meet job priorities and deadlines.
  3. Ensure adherence to health and safety policies and procedures.
  4. Monitor job progress, inspect completed work, and ensure it meets quality standards.
  5. Coordinate with procurement to ensure availability of tools, spare parts, and materials.
  6. Provide on-the-job training and support to workshop staff.
  7. Maintain workshop cleanliness and equipment maintenance schedules.
  8. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., logistics, planning, engineering) to ensure smooth operations.
  9. Manage documentation including work orders, job cards, inspection reports, and timesheets.
  10. Report performance, delays, or issues to upper management with recommendations for improvement.


Qualifications


  1. High school diploma or technical certification; degree in engineering or a related field.
  2. 3–5 years of experience in a similar supervisory role.
  3. Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge of heavy OEM construction and industrial equipment or machinery.
  4. Familiarity with OEM maintenance standards, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
  5. Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and service bulletins.
  6. Competence in preventive maintenance scheduling and work order management.
  7. Knowledge of calibration, torque control, and precision measurement tools.
  8. Skilled in inventory management and spare parts control.
