Youth Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging activities that promote social, emotional, and behavioral growth for youth
• Provide mentorship and guidance to children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or behavioral health challenges
• Support children in building conflict management skills through positive communication strategies
• Collaborate with families, educators, and social workers to create individualized plans that support each child's welfare and development
• Monitor progress and document behavioral changes or concerns, ensuring timely communication with relevant stakeholders
• Assist in creating a safe environment by enforcing rules, managing conflicts, and promoting respectful interactions
• Lead educational sessions focused on life skills such as decision-making, responsibility, and self-esteem

Requirements

• Experience working with children or adolescents in educational, childcare, or social service settings
• Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities
• Strong mentoring skills combined with the ability to manage conflicts effectively
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, and community partners
• Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice or related field
• Ability to remain energetic, patient, and adaptable in dynamic environments
