Abaya Tailoring Designer

Key Responsibilities:

Design bespoke and ready-to-wear abayas aligned with brand direction and client preferences

Conduct client consultations to define style, silhouette, fabric selection, and detailing

Develop design sketches and technical specifications for production

Lead measurement taking, fittings, and final adjustments to ensure flawless fit

Select fabrics, embellishments, and trims with a clear understanding of drape and wearability

Oversee tailoring execution to ensure design integrity is maintained

Ensure consistency in stitching, finishing, and overall garment quality

Introduce seasonal concepts and design variations to keep collections relevant

Manage delivery timelines from concept to completion

Qualifications:

Degree or certification in Fashion Design, Tailoring, or related field

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in abaya design or modest wear fashion

Strong understanding of abaya cuts, silhouettes, and regional preferences

Experience working with luxury fabrics such as crepe, nida, silk, and chiffon

Proficiency in sketching and garment construction techniques

Key Competencies:

Strong sense of modest fashion aesthetics

Precision in fitting and garment structure

Client relationship management

Attention to detail in finishing and embellishment

Ability to translate vision into wearable pieces
