Account Executive

The Account Executive will play a key role within the Finance and Accounts Department, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records and reporting. This role goes beyond routine accounting tasks and includes ownership of core accounting functions, active involvement in financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives.

This position is ideal for a highly detail-oriented finance professional with solid hands-on accounting experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, growth-focused organization.

The candidate should possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, proficiency in accounting systems, and the confidence to handle financial operations with minimal supervision while supporting strategic financial management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General Accounting Operations

  • Oversee and maintain accurate bookkeeping and daily financial transactions in line with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, general ledgers, and detailed account reconciliations.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial data submission.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of supporting documentation for internal and external audits.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Supervise end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices, expense claims, and supplier payments.
  • Monitor receivables, review aging reports, and coordinate follow-ups on outstanding balances with internal stakeholders.
  • Perform and review bank reconciliations and closely monitor cash flow records.

Taxation & Compliance

  • Prepare and review VAT/GST returns, withholding taxes, and other statutory filings in coordination with management or external consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and financial regulations.
  • Act as a key point of contact during audit periods and support audit preparation and documentation.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly management reports, financial summaries, and key performance insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide meaningful financial interpretation to support decision-making.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical records of all financial transactions and documentation.

Internal Coordination

  • Coordinate with procurement, HR, and operations teams to ensure accurate financial data flow and proper documentation.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiency.
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive financial and payroll-related information.

QUALIFICATIONSEducation

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (mandatory).
  • Post-graduate studies in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration are preferred.
  • Professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, CMA – part-qualified or pursuing) are an advantage.

Experience

  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in general accounting, finance operations, or auditing.
  • Mandatory experience in manufacturing, trading, or construction industries.
  • Background in a chartered accountancy firm or structured corporate finance environment is a strong advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial models, and reporting templates).
  • Good working knowledge of ERP systems and financial data management tools.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical thinking and high numerical accuracy.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to coordinate across departments.
  • Self-driven, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of accounting standards, taxation (VAT/GST), and financial documentation practices.
  • Good knowledge of compliance requirements in corporate or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with internal controls and audit processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR3,500.00 - QAR4,500.00 per month
