Role: Accountant

Job Purpose
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial operations of the company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full transaction cycle—from preparing professional quotations and invoices to managing receivables and conducting detailed account reconciliations. You will play a critical role in maintaining healthy cash flow and ensuring all client accounts are accurate and up-to-date.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Support & Documentation
- Quotation Preparation: Drafting professional and accurate cost estimates and formal quotations based on sales team requirements.
- Invoicing: Generating and issuing timely tax invoices to clients upon project milestones or delivery.
- Contract Filing: Maintaining an organized digital and physical filing system for all client contracts, LPOs (Local Purchase Orders), and agreements.
2. Accounts Receivable & Collections
- Statement of Accounts (SOA): Regularly preparing and sending SOAs to clients to keep them informed of their outstanding balances.
- Payment Follow-ups: Proactively communicating with clients via email and phone to ensure timely collections and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Aging Reports: Monitoring accounts receivable aging reports and highlighting overdue accounts to management.
3. Financial Recording & Reconciliation
- Data Entry: Accurate recording of all daily financial transactions (income and expenses) into the accounting software.
- Bank Reconciliation: Performing monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Petty Cash: Managing and replenishing petty cash, ensuring all vouchers are supported by valid receipts.
4. Reporting & Compliance
- Financial Reporting: Assisting in the preparation of monthly profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- VAT Management: Assisting in the preparation and filing of VAT returns in compliance with Qatar's tax regulations.
- Audit Support: Preparing necessary schedules and documentation for annual year-end audits.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience, preferably within the Qatar market (familiarity with local business practices).
- Software Proficiency: * Expertise in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of Qatar VAT laws and standard accounting principles.

- Communication: Excellent professional writing skills for drafting emails to clients regarding SOA and payment follow-ups.
- Organization: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in filing and data entry.
- Integrity: Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding sensitive financial data.
- Efficiency: Ability to meet monthly closing deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in the Events, Trading, or Construction sectors is a plus.
- Fluency in English (Arabic is a significant advantage for dealing with certain government sectors or local vendors).
- Strong negotiation skills for collection-related discussions.
