Accountant Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage daily accounting operations, including sales revenue, purchases, and expenses.
- Record and reconcile point-of-sale (POS) transactions and ensure accuracy of daily sales reports.
- Monitor and reconcile cash, credit card, and online payment collections.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory costs, stock movements, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Perform regular stock reconciliations and coordinate with warehouse/store teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Handle accounts payable by verifying supplier invoices and processing timely payments.
- Manage accounts receivable, including tracking customer payments and outstanding balances.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning specific to retail operations.
- Ensure proper recording of discounts, promotions, returns, and refunds.
- Calculate and file taxes (such as VAT) in compliance with local regulations.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and retail regulations.
- Identify cost control opportunities and reduce shrinkage or financial losses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or BCom.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related accounting role, preferably in retail.
- Proficiency in accounting software and strong skills in MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Must be currently based in the UAE (Ras Al Khaimah preferred).
- Available to join immediately.
