Accountant

Job Summary:
Euro Mechanical Instrument Services is seeking an Accountant to manage financial records, process accounts payable and receivable, and support VAT compliance for our Dubai operations. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate books, assisting with financial reporting, and ensuring adherence to UAE accounting standards. The position reports to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate books of accounts in compliance with IFRS and UAE accounting standards
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management review
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliations
• Process invoices, track payments, and follow up on outstanding collections
• Prepare and file VAT returns in accordance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations
• Process monthly payroll in compliance with UAE labor laws and WPS requirements
• Calculate end-of-service benefits (gratuity) as per UAE Labor Law
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
• Oversee petty cash management and expense tracking
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required documentation
• Coordinate with suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders on financial matters
• Maintain proper documentation for audits and tax inspections

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE
• Knowledge of IFRS and UAE VAT regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally, or similar)
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
• Understanding of payroll processing and WPS requirements
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage
