Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining accurate records.
- Perform account reconciliations for general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies efficiently.
- Conduct detailed journal entries and double-entry bookkeeping to record financial transactions accurately.
- Oversee payroll management using systems like ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and company policies.
- Support internal controls by assisting with SOX compliance procedures and documentation.
- Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or Ceridian for data entry and financial reporting.
- Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and account analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Maintain meticulous records of all financial transactions and prepare audit-ready documentation as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams on governmental accounting requirements and non-profit accounting practices when applicable.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro or similar platforms.
- Experience with payroll management systems such as Paychex or ADP.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and internal control frameworks.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficient in 10 key typing and double-entry bookkeeping techniques.
- Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, and journal entries efficiently.
- Solid understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, account analysis, budgeting, credit analysis, and tax experience.
- Strong analytical skills combined with excellent math abilities for account analysis and financial review.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and explain complex financial information clearly.
