Company Overview:

FMOC, Ltd was created in 2000. It has been managing commercial properties for the last twenty-five years with a focus on commercial retail properties. As of May 2026, it currently manages 114 properties located in 90 metropolitan markets in 18 states. The company continues to expand its portfolio with many more properties under contract to purchase within the next six months. Each property has its own set of accounting records, requiring the need to expand into this new position.

Job Overview:

This accounting position will be responsible for completing daily/weekly/monthly transactional accounting. This person will report directly to the Controller. They will oversee and work in conjunction with other accounting staff. All duties and responsibilities will be under the direction and supervision of the Controller. This position is ideal for the person who has solid accounting knowledge, such as an experienced bookkeeper or recent accounting graduate, and has the desire to gain valuable experience in a fun and relaxed small office environment. This is an in-person position. It is expected the candidate will work in the office Monday - Friday during normal business hours.

Duties

  • Manage the full accounting cycle for the portfolio of properties in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain accurate journal entries and double-entry bookkeeping records
  • Oversee all Accounts Payable (AP) functions, including processing vendor bills, managing approval workflows, scheduling payments, and maintaining vendor records.
  • Supervise monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Monitor cash flow of bank accounts
  • Preparation of standard financial statements
  • Preparation of lender required financial reports
  • Audit intra-company transactions
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to optimize financial performance
  • Flexibility to adjust and support a growing environment

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multitask with professionalism
  • Ability to work effectively under general supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable in a small business setting

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience or equivalent education
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred but not required
  • CPA certification is a plus but not required
  • Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and cash-basis accounting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in real estate, property management, and/or with AppFolio Property Management software is a plus, but not required.

Pay is commensurate with experience.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
