Accounting Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Assistant to join our Accounting team. This position will fill a critical role that supports both human resources operations and accounting functions. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter who is comfortable managing multiple responsibilities across payroll, HR administration, and accounts payable/receivable. Payroll & HR Administration

  • Perform a wide range of HR-related tasks supporting all employees across the organization.
  • Manage time-keeping programs and oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Set up and manage user access and permissions within company systems; facilitate onboarding and offboarding processes for all employees.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including employment status changes, deductions, and benefit enrollments.
  • Administer employee wellness and appreciation programs; identify opportunities for continued program improvement.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and HR policies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws, company policies, and data privacy requirements.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Support the Controller with all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Assist with collection efforts and follow up on outstanding balances in a professional and timely manner.
  • Process weekly check deposits accurately and reconcile to bank records.
  • Update and maintain member/customer accounts to reflect current payment status and activity.
  • Facilitate timely payments to vendors and ensure all transactions are properly documented.
  • Track and monitor incoming and outgoing payments; investigate and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Generate financial reports as requested by management to support decision-making.
  • Manage vendor records, including setup, updates, and maintenance of contact and payment information.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities as needed.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
