Accounting Clerk

Description

We are looking for a skilled Accounting Clerk to perform a variety of clerical and financial tasks.

This is not a remote position.

Accounting Clerk responsibilities include entering financial records, printing reports and handling invoices. You will use Spectrum ViewPoint or QuickBooksto process transactions and receipts. Additional office tasks such as answering the phone, directing calls, or other clerical tasks may also be a part of this position. A successful accounting clerk should be familiar with basic clerical procedures and be comfortable with data entry and entering numbers accurately.

The ideal candidate will ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively. Experience with Intuit QuickBooks or Spectrum ViewPoint, Sage, ViewPoint Vista or other ERP or accounting software is preferred.

Basic Responsibilities

  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the company
  • Type accurately, and prepare and maintain documents and records
  • Enter financial data into QuickBooks daily
  • Track and fix any accounting or clerical discrepancies (typos, reversals, etc)
  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Importing & exporting financial data into QuickBooks
  • Create reports/summaries in Excel

Skills / Requirements

  • Clerical or accounting experience
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and reporting software
  • Aptitude for handling spreadsheets and financial reports
  • Basic experience navigating files and folders on a computer
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform basic record keeping tasks
  • Data entry and word processing skills
  • QuickBooks or Spectrum ViewPoint experience is a plus
  • Well organized
