Accounting Coordinator, Full-Time

POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:

The purpose of this position is to assist the Finance Manager in the maintenance of financial records in compliance with federal and state law, DRP’s Accounting Policies, as well as ensuring the efficient and fair operation of the DRP’s financial systems. The full-time accounting coordinator will assist the Finance Manager with payroll, accounts payable and receivable as well as with the creation of spreadsheets and other financial schedules.

Duties to be performed during office hours remotely and in DRP’s Harrisburg office. In office at least one day weekly.

SALARY RANGE: $60,000-$70,000 depending on experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare and review payroll biweekly
  • Process and pay supplier invoices and employee reimbursements in
  • a timely manner.
  • Maintain orderly files of accounting records online.
  • Assist with preparation of the annual budget.
  • Assist with the annual audit.
  • Assist with annual and quarterly federal reports.
  • Assist with preparing annual pension plan audits and reporting
  • Assist with reconciling various general ledger accounts.
  • 1099 preparation and maintenance.
  • Prepare contract invoices.
  • Reconcile and process DRP credit card expenses.
  • Review and deliver office mail.
  • Perform office administrative tasks as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of DRP financial records, clients, and sensitive
  • materials.
  • Complies with DRP’s Accounting policies and procedures.
  • Operate office equipment, computer systems and accounting software.
  • Attend DRP trainings, general staff and other related meetings as
  • requested.
  • Complete tasks by assigned deadlines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent with experience
  • Two to five years’ experience in bookkeeping, human resources, or other financial functions preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of Excel and other accounting software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to multiple priorities and demands with varying deadlines.
  • Strong accounting and math skills – experience with more complex cost allocations
  • Adaptive learner, flexible, and willingness to take initiative to complete projects promptly.
  • Highly detail oriented.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Uses a personal computer 6-8 hours per day.
  • Uses a telephone 1-2 hours per day.
  • Spends 30-60 minutes per day in meetings.
  • Sits 6-8 hours per day.
  • Occasionally lifts 5-10 pounds.
  • Requires working under a moderate degree of stress (time constraints, deadlines; multi-tasking projects).
