Accounting Specialist

We are looking for a meticulous Accounting Specialist to join our team in Winter Park, Florida. In this Contract-to-Permanent role, you will play a key part in managing daily invoice processing, analyzing billing details, and ensuring accurate financial records. This position is ideal for someone with strong problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

• Process and reconcile a high volume of carrier invoices daily within internal systems to ensure accuracy.

• Review and analyze billing discrepancies, including index-based pricing, and resolve issues promptly.

• Communicate with carriers to gather necessary documentation, such as weight tickets, for accurate billing.

• Maintain precise financial records using tools like Excel and Word, alongside internal systems.

• Support accrual-based accounting operations to align with company financial practices.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

• Conduct account reconciliations to identify and address discrepancies effectively.

• Provide detailed reports and updates to management on billing and accounting activities.

• Proven experience in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and billing functions.

• Strong skills in account reconciliation and general accounting practices.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for maintaining financial records.

• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex billing issues.

• Effective communication skills for interacting with carriers and internal teams.

• Familiarity with accrual-based accounting principles.

• Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage high volumes of invoices efficiently.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.
