As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting for our Turkish legal entity. You will handle daily accounting operations, month-end closings, and tax processes in line with Turkish regulations and Group Accounting Policies. Working closely with the Shared Services Center and Regional Accounting teams, you will prepare financial statements, manage AP/AR reconciliations, and support continuous process improvement. This İstanbul-based, 12-month maternity cover role offers an opportunity to take ownership of core accounting activities and contribute to the company’s financial integrity and operational excellence.
Ensure timely booking of all journal entries in the ERP system (e.g., purchase & sales invoices, bank transactions, import & export files, employee travel expense reports, etc.)
Ensure that all accounting entries align with supporting documents and comply with Turkish Tax Regulations
Ensure timely preparation, approval, and payment of all tax returns
Perform and manage Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) reconciliations
Responsible for all monthly and annual accounting closing activities
Prepare financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Trial Balance)
Control fixed asset accounting entries, prepare fixed asset reports, and follow up on inventory
Maintain and monitor accounting procedures and processes through a proper Chart of Accounts, ensuring compliance with Group Accounting Policies and Local Regulations
Coordinate month-end close process in collaboration with Shared Services Center / Regional Accounting team and respond to related queries
Act as the go-to person for the Shared Services Center regarding the Turkish legal entity (month-end close, ad-hoc requests)
- Provide full support for Align Turkey’s financial and accounting operations
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics
Minimum 3–4 years of relevant work experience in financial accounting, preferably in a multinational environment
CPA (SMMM) license or internship status
Big 4 or outsourced accounting experience is a plus
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and ERP systems (preferably LOGO and SAP)
Knowledge of E-Invoice, E-Archive, and E-Ledger processes
Process-oriented mindset with the ability to define and improve end-to-end processes
Ability to manage a flexible and dynamic workload
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and drive solutions
Analytical thinking, problem-solving mindset, and systems orientation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
- Hands-on experience in accounting operations with great attention to detail
