What Will I be Doing?

Supervises and directs accounting activities of all aspects of resorts, homeowners’ associations, rentals, and retail of the locations. Performs financial and accounting activities in support of the HGVC property to increase internal control and maximize revenue.

  • Responds to internal customers and guests/owners’ problems and oversees resolution
  • Ensures that a high standard of service is delivered in a friendly and personalized manner
  • Maintains a high level of visibility and contact amongst guests and owners
  • Follow-through on stated goals and commitments
  • Effective communication with key partners and leadership
  • Ability to demonstrate role-modeling behavior through visible actions
  • Exhibits direct honesty and support to team members, corporate leaders, owners, and guests
  • Ability to identify resources (people, materials, funding, support) to achieve goals
  • Identifies “less obvious” and creative approaches to obtaining resources, especially in lean environments
  • Readily adapts personal, interpersonal, and leadership behavior to address challenges appropriately, be able to use situational awareness to adapt and adjust to fit the needs of the moment
  • Manages and coordinates all aspects of accounting representatives and general cashiers' job functions such as selection, orientation, training, coaching, scheduling, and recognition. Maintain a positive, cooperative work environment between staff and management
  • Review night audit reports ensuring data processed accurately and address any corrections that need to be made
  • Prepare and submit all necessary paperwork for Monthly closing, and analyze financial statements monthly basis. The financial spending of the operations as it relates to the established annual budget. Ensures effective reporting and forecasting of results in collaboration with each department
  • Prepare and submit biweekly payroll of all departments
  • Ensures that all licenses, permits, and insurance policies are current and in compliance with local, state, and Federal laws. Monitors all contracts and agreements and advises hotel management of terms, conditions, and benefits. Conduct monthly operating statement review meetings. Ensure compliance with financial record retention policies. Administer the competitive bidding process. Cooperate with internal/external audits and implements agreed upon recommendations
  • Analyze retail inventories on a monthly basis of the property, and work on special projects at managers request
  • May be required to supervise or manage employees if applicable. Recruit, train and motivate team members while monitoring individual performance and managing opportunities for improvement. Deliver evaluations, provide recognition and ensure succession plans are in place. Commit to developing personal development plans. Provide coaching, counseling, and progressive subject area, in accordance with Human Resources guidelines
  • May be required to do other duties and special projects as assigned

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • 4+ years of accounting/finance experience
  • Excel advanced skills (e.g. macros, formulas, etc.)
  • Experience in timeshare accounting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
  • Certified Public Accountant or working towards certification
  • 2+ years supervisory experience
