Accounts Receivable Accountant

Function: The Accounts Receivable Accountant plays a pivotal role on the finance team, contributing to the management of financial transactions, preparing comprehensive reports, and ensuring strict adherence to accounting principles and company policies. They are responsible for maintaining financial records for the company, managing receivables, and assisting with other accounting tasks as needed.

Financial Transactions:

  • -Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts receivable transactions
  • -Maintain and track contracts, invoices, payments, lien release documents, and insurance policy information
  • -Address customer inquiries, provide statements, receipts, and other financial information as needed
  • -Accounts receivable collection calls and follow-up
  • -Update customer records as needed
  • -Maintain file compliance and history

  • Cross Functional Collaboration:
  • -Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
  • -Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and provide support as needed
  • -Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth business operations
  • -Act as backup for accounts payable and payroll as needed
  • -Prepare job cost reports

Additional: Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required to support the operations of the company.

Education and Experience:

  • -Education: bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting
  • -Accounting (or related) experience: 5-7 years
  • -Computer experience: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills required
  • -Office equipment: knowledge of equipment operations required
  • -Bilingual a plus, but not required
  • Skills:
  • -Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals
  • -Advanced familiarity with tax legislation and regulations
  • -Experience with hiring and termination policies and procedures
  • -High level of confidentiality and unquestionable ethics
  • -Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail
  • -Exceptional level of accuracy and ability to multi-task
  • -Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • -Possess a sense of urgency to get things done
  • -Professional yet personable demeanor
  • -Ability to interface with and satisfy needs of diverse groups
  • -Knowledge of the construction industry

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
