Job Description:
We are seeking a fully qualified ACCA accountant with strong expertise in UK accounting standards, taxation, and bookkeeping. The ideal candidate must currently be working with UK-based clients and should be able to work independently on an ad-hoc basis. This role requires in-depth knowledge of UK accounts, tax, VAT, payroll, and personal tax returns, along with advanced MS Excel skills for financial reporting and analysis.
Experience with US clients and/or holding a US accounting qualification (e.g., CPA) will be considered a strong plus.
Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle accounting for UK-based clients, including bookkeeping, accounts preparation, and financial reporting
- Prepare and file VAT returns, personal tax returns, and other statutory submissions in compliance with UK regulations
- Handle payroll processing and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements
- Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reconciliations
- Prepare management accounts, financial statements, and cash flow reports
- Create detailed financial reports and analytics in MS Excel, including models, pivot tables, and charts
- Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial data
- Coordinate directly with clients, ensuring professional and effective communication
- Work independently and manage multiple tasks/projects efficiently
Requirements:
- Fully ACCA qualified accountant (mandatory)
- Proven experience working with UK-based clients (current and past)
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, VAT, payroll, and personal tax returns
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including financial modeling and reporting
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or other relevant tools)
- Ability to work independently and on an ad-hoc/remote basis
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills
- Bonus: Experience working with US clients and/or CPA qualification
Qualifications:
- ACCA qualified (essential)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Demonstrated success in UK bookkeeping, tax compliance, and financial reporting
- US accounting knowledge/qualification will be a plus
