This position is located in Thibodaux, LA in the Lafourche Parish Child Support Enforcement Office.
This is an essential administrative position which provides support to the core mission of the Department of Children and Family Services. The position provides clerical, programmatic, and administrative support functions for staff, applicants and clients of the Child Support Enforcement Office. Job Duties:

Assist Attorneys with case preparations.

Independently prepares appropriate legal pleading, obtains signatures on various forms, and documents pertinent data.

Maintains an effective record management and legal tracking process, utilizing computer systems and seeks opportunities to improve it.

Assist as necessary in locating physical case records.

Conducts computer searches as needed to determine if case duplications exist and routes duplicated files appropriately to assure file merge.

Updates LASES (Louisiana Automated Support Enforcement System) from case record.

Schedules, coordinates, maintains, and tracks genetic testing for the custodial parents, non-custodial parents, and their children for paternity establishment

Supervises an Administrative Coordinator and approves time and attendance.

Reports leave balances to CSE Area Director, CSE Manager, and CSE Supervisors after review of payroll reports.

Provides coverage for the receptionist desk when requested to do so, including greeting customers, assessing their needs, and addressing their concerns.

Monitors supply room to assure that appropriate and adequate supplies are readily available and easily accessible.

Performs related duties as assigned for the smooth operation of the Department.
Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.
Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, 3 or 4. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.
Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
