AIRPORT CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Airport Construction Superintendent to lead and manage all aspects of construction projects in airports from planning and scheduling to overseeing field operations and ensuring safety and compliance. This person will lead the project team, including subcontractors and labor, and coordinate with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and airport authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise all field operations, subcontractor activities, and vendor logistics throughout the mobilization, construction, and closeout phases.
  • Develop and implement construction plans and schedules, ensuring milestones, staffing, safety, and quality standards are met at every phase.
  • Liaise with airport officials, building inspectors and code compliance officers to schedule and manage inspections and address compliance issues.
  • Inspect ongoing work to ensure adherence to project specifications, drawings, and quality standards; proactively resolve on-site issues.
  • Monitor construction timelines, manage job costs, and support Project Managers with the documentation of back-charges when necessary.
  • Assist in processing subcontractor and client change order requests, including collecting and submitting pricing for Project Manager review.
  • Maintain job site cleanliness, safety, and organization at all times.
  • Submit detailed daily reports via Procore, including progress updates, photos, materials used, punch lists, and any schedule changes.
  • Perform basic construction and site maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Support other duties as assigned to ensure project success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, engineering, or a related field and a minimum of four years related experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience is acceptable.
  • Previous airport construction experience, commercial construction experience, and experience in compliance and enforcement of building codes is required.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage diverse teams and subcontractors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of construction terminology, planning, scheduling, and project execution.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficient with Procore or similar construction management software.
  • Ability to use hand tools and perform basic construction tasks and site cleanup.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $78,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Weekends as needed
