Application Analyst

Job Summary

The Application Analyst is responsible for the administration, maintenance, enhancement, and support of enterprise applications. The role ensures optimal system performance, reliability, and security while aligning technology solutions with business objectives. The incumbent will serve as a technical lead and escalation point, working closely with end users, vendors, IT teams, and the Project Management Office (PMO) to deliver effective and sustainable application solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Application Management & Support

  • Identify organizational needs for new applications and technology solutions.

  • Prepare detailed technical specifications and system documentation.

  • Implement, configure, test, and integrate new applications and system enhancements.

  • Perform routine application backups, upgrades, and system releases.

  • Install and maintain new applications, upgrades, and patches.

  • Monitor system performance and respond promptly to support requests.

  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application and system faults.

  • Analyze error trends and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.

  • Communicate application issues and system updates to users in a timely manner.

  • Liaise with application vendors and service providers to meet organizational requirements.

  • Schedule and execute regular system testing to enhance performance and reliability.

  • Identify, develop, and implement functional improvements.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of applications, databases, and related processes.

  • Design, create, and execute complex standard and ad-hoc reports based on business requirements.

  • Develop or modify procedures to resolve complex technical and business challenges.

Leadership & Technical Guidance

  • Serve as the escalation point for complex technical support issues.

  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and oversight to IT staff when assigned.

  • Deliver user training and technical guidance to end users and IT personnel.

  • Anticipate knowledge gaps and proactively address training needs.

Security & Compliance

  • Monitor and implement IT security measures to protect organizational data, software, and hardware.

  • Ensure data integrity, safety, and availability within the organization’s information systems.

Collaboration & Project Support

  • Coordinate with the Project Management Office (PMO), senior IT staff, management, and vendors to:

    • Conduct business and user needs assessments.

    • Gather and document requirements.

    • Develop and implement solutions that enhance user experience, enterprise efficiency, and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.

  • Technical competencies will be reviewed and validated by the Information Systems Department (ISD).

Experience & Competencies

  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant professional experience.

  • Proven experience in administration, monitoring, and maintenance of software infrastructures and enterprise applications.

  • Strong background in ensuring system integrity, security, and high availability.

  • Experience serving as a primary technical point of contact for resolving application and system issues.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
