Applications Functional Specialist

1. Provide support to current users of Oracle Application, including day to day

operational support, in the following functional area;

  • Inventory / Warehouse Management Module.
  • Purchasing and Advanced Procurement Module.
  • Custom Applications within Oracle.
  • Enterprise Asset Management.
  • Oracle Human Resource Management Module.

2. Responsible for solution review, assisting in IT System testing, facilitating User

Accepting Testing (UAT) and carrying out change management for Oracle bug

fixes and enhancement.

3. Responsible for User Account Management for Oracle Enterprise Resource

Planning (ERP) Solution.

4. Provide support to current users of all Dubai Petroleum Establishment (DPE)

applications and other business applications, to achieve maximum benefits'

realisation. Include ensuring user documentation is prepared, that users are

provided with training, and that appropriate security and authorisations are in

place.

5. Assist the business in reviewing business processes to determine which

functionality should be implemented to streamline the process and achieve

maximum benefits. Lead workshops to address cross-functional issues and

processes that need to be reviewed / resolved. Provide on-going advice to users

and key users, responding to their requests for problem resolution, system

training and improvements. Refer appropriate requests on to software / support

vendors and liaises with them for the resolution of user problems.

6. Monitor on-going usage of applications, identifying issues/opportunities for

system improvement. Work with users, key users and other support groups in developing changes within the existing systems, including customising to meet

user specifications, ensuring that any customisations and system changes have

full business justification from Business Process Owners. Work with the users in

the review and testing of approved system modifications. Coordinate any work to

be done by external consultants, reviewing their inputs and liaising with users.

7. Keep colleagues in other areas of IT advised of all relevant operations and

developments, involving them in systems integration activities. Participate in

developing and maintaining the Company's relationships and service

agreements.

8. Manage small to medium scale IT projects from requirements gathering through

to planning and execution, while adhering to DPE IT policy and processes.

9. Adherence to all internal Company and IT policies and procedures, including

Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Change, Incident and

Problem Management processes and DPE Project Management processes.

10. Assist the business in reviewing the business processes in relation to system

functionality.

11. Manage, develop and implement projects to enhance the utilisation and

performance of the system. Expand and/or enhance the delivered value of the

system to the business.

12. Maintain technical knowledge by keeping up to date with relevant software

developments locally and globally to ensure that the Company achieves

maximum business benefits from its on-going agreements.

13. Be the focal point for ERP Audit support / ISO Audit Support, including

attending audit interviews, providing the required documentations and actioning

Corrective and Preventive Actions thus identified.

14. To provide advanced onsite and remote support to the company IT system

users for all DPE applications, reporting systems and related systems and

databases.
