Role Overview

The Project Coordinator (MEP & Projects) will support the successful planning, coordination, documentation, and execution of MEP and construction projects across the UAE. Working closely with the Senior Project Engineer, the role will be responsible for engineering coordination, technical documentation, project tracking, procurement support, authority submissions, and site coordination to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively between engineering, procurement, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Design & Technical Support

• Prepare MEP layouts, shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings using AutoCAD
• Develop HVAC layouts and perform heat load calculations
• Prepare lighting layouts and conduct lux level calculations
• Assist in the preparation of electrical load schedules and single-line diagrams
• Support the development of plumbing, drainage, and firefighting system drawings
• Coordinate design revisions and ensure drawings are updated accurately

Project Coordination

• Support the Senior Project Engineer in planning and coordinating project activities
• Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution
• Follow up on drawing approvals, material approvals, and technical submissions
• Monitor project milestones and track progress against project schedules
• Participate in project coordination meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action trackers

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare RFIs, technical submittals, method statements, material submittals, and inspection requests
• Maintain project documentation, drawing registers, correspondence logs, and project records
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management review
• Ensure all project documentation is properly controlled, filed, and maintained

Procurement & Quantity Support

• Prepare material take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from engineering drawings
• Assist in obtaining quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
• Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely material deliveries
• Monitor material approvals and delivery schedules to support project timelines

Site Support

• Conduct site visits to verify installation progress and gather project data
• Coordinate with site engineers and supervisors regarding technical requirements
• Assist in resolving technical and coordination-related issues
• Verify completed works against approved drawings and project specifications

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure engineering drawings and calculations comply with UAE regulations, authority requirements, and project specifications
• Support authority submissions and approval processes
• Assist in preparing project handover documentation and as-built packages
• Promote adherence to quality standards, safety requirements, and company procedures

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in MEP design, project coordination, or construction projects within the UAE
• Strong understanding of MEP systems, project coordination processes, and construction practices
• Experience preparing technical drawings, BOQs, and project documentation
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
• Experience performing heat load calculations and lux level studies
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and project stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on commercial, residential, or facility management projects in the UAE
• Familiarity with UAE authority submission processes and regulations
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and firefighting systems
• Experience coordinating procurement activities and supplier management
• Familiarity with project scheduling and progress tracking tools
• Knowledge of quality assurance and project documentation control processes
