Asphalt Foreman

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Asphalt Foreman to supervise and coordinate site activities related to asphalt paving, road construction, and earthmoving operations. The ideal candidate should have hands-on knowledge of road construction processes and be capable of managing site teams, machinery operations, and ensuring the quality and safety of paving works. A valid driving license is required for mobility between sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise day-to-day site activities related to asphalt paving, subgrade, sub-base, and earthworks.
• Plan and execute asphalt laying operations, ensuring correct temperature, compaction, and finishing.
• Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and site teams to ensure alignment and levels are maintained.
• Direct and monitor paver, roller, and earthmoving equipment operators.
• Supervise grading, levelling, and compaction prior to asphalt application.
• Ensure materials (asphalt mix, base course) are delivered, stored, and applied correctly.
• Monitor plant output, paving speed, compaction rates, and ensure uniformity of pavement.
• Maintain safety and quality standards across all paving and road activities.
• Report daily progress, manpower, equipment usage, and issues to the Site Engineer.
• Conduct toolbox talks and enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies on site.
• Drive to and between job sites as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma, vocational training, or technical certification in civil or construction trades.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in asphalt and road construction projects.
• Strong experience in operating or supervising paving equipment and earthmoving machinery.
• Knowledge of asphalt mix designs, paving techniques, and compaction standards.
• Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and site levels.
• Experience in managing site crews and subcontractors.
• Good knowledge of road construction methods, safety procedures, and quality control.
• Valid driving license is mandatory (light vehicle or above).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Pay: RO300.000 - RO400.000 per month
