Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Asphalt Foreman to supervise and coordinate site activities related to asphalt paving, road construction, and earthmoving operations. The ideal candidate should have hands-on knowledge of road construction processes and be capable of managing site teams, machinery operations, and ensuring the quality and safety of paving works. A valid driving license is required for mobility between sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day site activities related to asphalt paving, subgrade, sub-base, and earthworks.
- Plan and execute asphalt laying operations, ensuring correct temperature, compaction, and finishing.
- Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and site teams to ensure alignment and levels are maintained.
- Direct and monitor paver, roller, and earthmoving equipment operators.
- Supervise grading, levelling, and compaction prior to asphalt application.
- Ensure materials (asphalt mix, base course) are delivered, stored, and applied correctly.
- Monitor plant output, paving speed, compaction rates, and ensure uniformity of pavement.
- Maintain safety and quality standards across all paving and road activities.
- Report daily progress, manpower, equipment usage, and issues to the Site Engineer.
- Conduct toolbox talks and enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies on site.
- Drive to and between job sites as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma, vocational training, or technical certification in civil or construction trades.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in asphalt and road construction projects.
- Strong experience in operating or supervising paving equipment and earthmoving machinery.
- Knowledge of asphalt mix designs, paving techniques, and compaction standards.
- Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and site levels.
- Experience in managing site crews and subcontractors.
- Good knowledge of road construction methods, safety procedures, and quality control.
- Valid driving license is mandatory (light vehicle or above).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
