Overview
We are looking for a professional Assistant Bookkeeper to join our team and assist with financial operations. In this role, you would be working alongside our Lead Bookkeeper to handle various roles, while ensuring accurate and timely financial record-keeping. The goal is to maintain the integrity of our financial data, assist with reconciliations, and contribute to the preparation of financial reports. Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining accurate general ledger entries, including journal entries and account analysis.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure data accuracy across all accounts.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
- Help prepare financial reports by gathering data, writing summaries, and ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Manage payroll processing and related tax documentation to ensure timely and accurate employee payments.
- Conduct account reconciliation activities, including balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and other financial tools to streamline bookkeeping tasks.
Experience
- Previous experience or knowledge in bookkeeping or accounting support roles is required.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks is also required, as it is an integral part of the business.
- Knowledge of corporate accounting standards, non-profit accounting practices, and governmental accounting procedures is a plus.
- Understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation techniques.
- Experience in preparing financial reports, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and account analysis will set you apart.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software for data management and reporting tasks.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks accurately under deadlines.
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
