The Obermann Center for Advanced Studies is an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to fostering innovative scholarship at the University of Iowa, serving the University of Iowa community for nearly fifty years. Through grants, fellowships, collaborative research initiatives, public programming, and partnership with scholars locally and globally, the Center serves as a hub for intellectual inquiry and creative exploration. The Assistant Director plays a central role in advancing this mission in close partnership with the Director.
The University of Iowa seeks a highly organized, intellectually engaged scholar-administrator to serve as Assistant Director of the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies. Reporting directly to the Director, the Assistant Director contributes to the strategic leadership, programmatic development, and daily operations of the Center. This is an exceptional opportunity for a scholar with administrative acumen to support and continue shaping a leading interdisciplinary center for the University of Iowa.

This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
