Position: Assistant Manager – Customer Service Department (CSD)
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Customer Service Department, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Supervise customer service staff, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to company policies and service standards.
- Handle and resolve complex customer queries, complaints, and escalations in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain effective communication and coordination with Shipping Lines, Freight Forwarders, customers, and relevant institutions.
- Ensure seamless coordination with internal departments for container arrivals, de-stuffing, off-hiring, and related operations.
- Review and authorize customer documentation, including waivers and service-related approvals, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
- Analyze customer service trends, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting of customer interactions, service issues, and departmental performance.
- Drive process improvements and support digitalization initiatives for enhanced operational efficiency.
Educational Background & Skill Set:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the logistics, shipping, or terminal operations industry, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- Sound knowledge of customer service practices and documentation processes.
- Proficiency in IT applications and systems relevant to terminal/customer operations.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
