Assistant Manager Health & Safety

Karachi, Pakistan

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring Health & Safety (H&S) policies and procedures within the manufacturing environment.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Support in incident/accident investigations and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
  • Deliver safety training and awareness sessions for employees at all levels.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce workplace safety rules.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and compliance reports.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to drive continuous improvement in workplace safety.
  • Stay updated with H&S regulations and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Graduate in Science (Occupational Health & Safety background preferred).
  • Professional certification such as IOSH and/or NEBOSH (mandatory/preferred).
  • 2–3 years of proven experience handling Health & Safety matters in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of H&S regulations, risk assessment, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to conduct safety inspections and prepare detailed reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence safe practices across teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office for preparing reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach toward safety improvement.
