Assistant Manager Import

Position: Assistant Manager Import

Organization: Lahore Institute of Medical Sciences (LIMS)

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Import to lead and manage the import of medical equipment, critical supplies and infrastructure materials. This position plays a key role in ensuring that essential resources are delivered on time, in full compliance with international and national trade regulations, and seamlessly integrated into our operations,

Key Responsibilities:

1 Import Documentation & Compliance:

  • Prepare, verify, and manage import related documents, including Letters of Credit (LCs), invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading (B/L), customs declarations, TDRs, and certificates of origin.
  • Ensure full compliance with customs regulations, SROs, and SBP guidelines.

2 Coordination & Liaison:

  • Work closely with clearing agents, freight forwarders, suppliers, banks, insurance companies, and transporters.
  • Handle official visits to banks, government offices, and other relevant departments for document processing, approvals, and refunds.

3 Logistics & Shipment Tracking:

  • Monitor and track shipments from international suppliers to local facilities.
  • Manage delivery order issuance and calculate associated charges.
  • Resolve logistical issues or discrepancies in coordination with stakeholders.

4 Record-Keeping & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate physical and digital records of all import activities.
  • Prepare reports, purchase orders, and correspondence for management.

5 ERP & Systems Use:

  • Utilize ERP systems for import tracking and documentation (experience with Odoo ERP will be a significant advantage).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Finance, Logistics or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of hands on experience in import operations or logistics.
  • Proven experience using the Odoo ERP system for supply chain, inventory, and logistics management.
  • Strong knowledge of international and national trade regulations, customs procedures, and shipping documentation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills.
