The Assistant Manager – IE Engineer is responsible for production planning, capacity analysis, line balancing, and process optimization to ensure efficient utilization of resources. The role focuses on improving productivity, reducing waste, and supporting on-time delivery through industrial engineering techniques and planning strategies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Control
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales forecasts and customer orders.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust plans to meet delivery targets.
- Ensure optimal machine and manpower utilization.
2. Industrial Engineering Activities
- Conduct time & motion studies to establish standard times.
- Perform line balancing for improved productivity.
- Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Lean, 5S, etc.).
- Prepare capacity analysis and efficiency reports.
3. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track KPIs such as productivity, efficiency, OEE, and on-time delivery.
- Prepare MIS reports and present findings to management.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production delays.
4. Process Improvement & Cost Reduction
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through process optimization.
- Support automation and system improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering
