Assistant Manager- Maintenance

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and technically strong Assistant Manager – Engineering & Maintenance to oversee preventive and corrective maintenance operations across production facilities, warehouses, and retail outlets. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in engineering maintenance within the food manufacturing/FMCG industry and strong exposure to utilities, refrigeration systems, production machinery, and retail equipment maintenance.

Candidates with prior experience in the food industry will be given strong preference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities for production machinery, utilities, warehouse equipment, and retail outlet equipment.
  • Ensure smooth operation and maximum uptime of chillers, HVAC systems, ovens, refrigeration units, generators, electrical panels, and other critical equipment.
  • Supervise engineering staff, technicians, and third-party contractors across multiple locations.
  • Respond to breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Monitor cold chain and refrigeration systems to ensure compliance with food safety and operational standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to minimize equipment failures and recurring issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors for repairs, spare parts procurement, AMCs, and technical support services.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and expansion projects for production and retail operations.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards, engineering SOPs, and company safety policies.
  • Maintain maintenance records, utility consumption data, equipment history, and engineering reports.
  • Assist in engineering budget planning, maintenance cost control, and utility optimization initiatives.
  • Train operational teams on basic equipment handling and maintenance reporting procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, reliability, and cost reduction.
  • Prepare regular maintenance KPI reports and present updates to management.
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned by management to support the department’s objectives and overall business goals.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of relevant maintenance and engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of utilities, refrigeration systems, HVAC, production machinery, and electrical systems.
  • Experience handling maintenance operations for food manufacturing plants, warehouses, or retail chains will be preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, team management, and vendor coordination skills.
  • Good knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple sites and work under pressure in operational environments.

Pay: Rs100,000.00 - Rs125,000.00 per month
