Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager – Operations (Bus Services) supports the day-to-day management of bus services to ensure efficient, safe, reliable, and customer-oriented operations. This role involves supervising operational staff, managing service schedules, coordinating with maintenance and customer service teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:Operational Management
- Monitor daily bus operations and service performance to ensure timeliness and reliability.
- Oversee scheduling, route planning, driver rosters, and vehicle allocation in coordination with the planning team.
- Handle on-ground issues such as delays, breakdowns, or emergencies, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Coordinate with depots and dispatch teams to manage peak-hour operations efficiently.
Staff Supervision & Training
- Supervise and support drivers, conductors, and other operational staff.
- Monitor staff performance and adherence to SOPs.
- Assist in organizing training sessions for safety, customer service, and operational excellence.
- Participate in driver briefings and debriefings to review service quality and address concerns.
Customer Service & Incident Management
- Respond to and resolve customer complaints, incidents, or service disruptions.
- Work closely with the customer care team to ensure a smooth passenger experience.
- Implement corrective actions based on passenger feedback or service audits.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to all safety, regulatory, and operational protocols (e.g., RTO, transport department rules).
- Maintain and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
- Track and report KPIs such as on-time performance, trip completion, fuel efficiency, and staff attendance.
Coordination & Support
- Liaise with maintenance, HR, planning, and finance departments for seamless service delivery.
- Support implementation of technology (e.g., GPS tracking, ticketing systems) in daily operations.
- Assist in managing contractor relationships if operations are partially outsourced.
Qualifications & Skills:Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Postgraduate diploma in Transport/Operations Management (preferred).
Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in transport operations, preferably in bus/public transport services.
- Experience in managing teams and transport logistics.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of transport software and tools (e.g., AVL, ERP, rostering systems).
- Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards in the transport industry.

- On-time performance and schedule adherence.
- Reduction in operational incidents and customer complaints.
- Staff punctuality and performance metrics.

Working Conditions:
