Job Title: R&D Manager (Senior Resource)

Location: SITE Area Karachi
Industry: Food Manufacturing Industry
Type: Full Time On-Site, Monday to Saturday.

Timings: 8am to 5pm

Salary: 120K to 130K

Qualification Required: Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or Chemistry
Experience: 5 -8 years in Food Research & Development with at least 2 years in a supervisory role

About the Role

Our client, a well-established leader in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking a dynamic and innovative IRD (R&D) Team Lead to spearhead product innovation and development initiatives. This role is critical in driving the company’s commitment to quality, creativity, and customer satisfaction by developing new products, improving existing formulations, and ensuring alignment with food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the R&D team in new product development (NPD), from concept to commercialization.
  • Research global food trends, consumer insights, and market opportunities to drive innovation.
  • Improve existing product formulations, ensuring cost optimization, better taste, and compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), and Production teams to ensure smooth product trials and scale-up.
  • Manage lab testing, sensory evaluations, and shelf-life studies for new and existing products.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety, Halal, and regulatory standards (PSQCA, ISO, HACCP, etc.).
  • Maintain thorough documentation of research trials, test results, and formulations.
  • Liaise with suppliers to source and evaluate new ingredients, raw materials, and packaging innovations.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop team members to enhance technical expertise and creativity.

Qualification Required: Masters in Food Technology

Requirements: Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of food chemistry, microbiology, and nutrition.

· Thorough knowledge and understanding of GMP, QMS 9001, FSMS ISO 22000, and Halal Audit.

  • Proven expertise in recipe formulation, process development, and pilot plant trials.
  • Proficiency in QCM module of SAP S/4 Hana preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation in the food industry.
