Job Title: Assistant Professor of Nursing
Location: Mayville State University, Mayville, ND
Compensation: Hiring Range: $68,269 - $81,923 - This position will be an 11-month contract and salary will commensurate with level of experience

Position Information: The Nursing Faculty member is responsible to the Chair of the Division of Nursing for development, planning, implementation and evaluation of assigned courses in the nursing division. Each faculty member assumes a role in systematic evaluation of the MSN program for quality improvement and accreditation activities. This position also carries requirements for academic advising, leadership or coordinating role in assigned courses and committee assignments, and service to nursing and the broader community. Position may require active role in development of new programs, as appropriate for qualifications and division needs.
Focus: Advanced nursing practice, leadership, education, or informatics at the graduate level. May be assigned teaching in the pre-licensure or RN-to-BSN program as necessary.
Responsibilities:
Teaching Responsibilities
Plans, implements and evaluates learning activities according to University policies, course credits and course objectives.
Creates and manages the educational environment to facilitate optimal learning experiences.
Adapts teaching to various delivery methods accommodating diverse learning styles.
Utilizes instructional methods which promote development of critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, clinical competency and lifelong learning.
Assists in accreditation activities and curriculum development.
Requires teaching distance instruction, with face-to-face on campus, and/or, hybrid as necessary.
Requires teaching in summer semesters if needed
Relationships with Stakeholders
Participates in Mayville State University committees and task forces as appropriate to maintain communication and collaborative decision making.
Maintains confidential environment and respects learner and patient privacy.
Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with colleagues within Mayville State University, area health care organizations, nursing degree partnerships and other community partnerships.
Actively participates as a member of the Division of Nursing Program Advisory Board.
Continuous Improvement
Collaborates in the collection and analysis of data related to course and/or program outcomes and implements evidence-based changes.
Participates in nursing division meetings, maintains membership on associated committees, and contributes to overall program assessment.
Professional Development
Maintains currency in clinical practice.
Maintains and/or seeks advanced certification aligned to areas of clinical practice and/or instruction.
Completes continuing education in areas of instruction.
University Responsibilities
Consistent with expectations of non-nursing faculty.
Requires regular on-campus presence for division and university functions/meetings as arranged with the Dean/Chair of Nursing.
Actively participates in activities, committees, and meetings across campus as a representative of the Division of Nursing.

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree (DNP, PhD, or EdD)
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a clinical practice or educational setting
Current (or eligible for) unencumbered North Dakota Registered Nurse license.
Teaching experience face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid in a higher education setting
Evidence of professional development
Background/experience in applying instructional technology as a tool in education
Preferred Qualifications
Terminal degree in nursing or a related field
Current unencumbered North Dakota Registered Nurse license.
Experience teaching in higher education.
Experience teaching in an online environment.
Experience with community service and service learning
Strong background in research, scholarship, or clinical practice
Certification in specialty area
