Job Purpose To lead, manage, and optimize all Plant & Machinery functions within the fabrication yard, ensuring maximum equipment availability, high operational efficiency, compliance with safety standards, and cost-effective asset utilization to support production targets.
Key ResponsibilitiesA. Strategic & Operational Management
Develop and implement the P&M strategy to support fabrication schedules and yard operations.
Prepare and manage annual P&M budgets (CAPEX & OPEX).
Plan and allocate equipment resources based on project needs, production plans, and site priorities.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment productivity and reduce downtime.
Oversee the full lifecycle of all P&M assets: procurement, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
Maintain a robust asset tracking system, ensuring real?time visibility of equipment health, usage, and availability.
Ensure all critical equipment (e.g., cranes, welding machines, generators, forklifts, compressors) meets operational load and yard requirements.
Conduct periodic asset condition audits and implement refurbishment or replacement plans.
Lead preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance programs for all yard equipment.
Ensure adherence to OEM guidelines, maintenance schedules, and statutory inspection requirements.
Analyze equipment performance data to reduce unscheduled downtime and optimize life-cycle costs.
Implement reliability engineering practices (RCA, FMEA, MTBF/MTTR analysis).
Ensure all equipment meets safety, regulatory, and certification standards (lifting equipment certifications, third-party inspections, etc.).
Promote a strong safety culture across P&M teams and operators.
Conduct risk assessments for high-risk operations involving cranes, heavy lifts, and mechanical tools.
Ensure compliance with HSE, QA/QC, and company standards.
Lead and develop the P&M workforce: supervisors, engineers, technicians, operators, and mechanics.
Manage vendor relationships, including service providers, rental agencies, and OEMs.
Negotiate contracts for rentals, repairs, and new equipment procurement.
Provide training and skill upgradation programs for equipment operators and technicians.
