Audio Video Technician

Job Summary:

The Audio Video Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting AV equipment used for meetings, conferences, events, and daily operations. This includes sound systems, video displays, projectors, recording devices, and video conferencing tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate AV equipment for meetings, presentations, and events.
  • Install and configure AV systems including projectors, microphones, speakers, video walls, and control systems.
  • Provide technical support for video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex).
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of AV systems.
  • Collaborate with IT and Facilities teams to ensure seamless AV integration.
  • Maintain inventory of AV equipment and accessories.
  • Train staff on proper use of AV equipment.
  • Stay updated on the latest AV technologies and recommend upgrades when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Audio Engineering, Electronics, IT, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an AV Technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of AV systems, signal flow, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with video conferencing platforms and streaming technologies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or equivalent.
  • Experience with Crestron, Extron, AMX, or similar control systems.
  • Knowledge of networking and IP-based AV systems.
