Job Title: Auto Workshop Supervisor
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Auto Workshop Supervisor to oversee our vehicle repair and maintenance operations, with a strong focus on the bodyshop department. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing a team of technicians, including denters, painters, and mechanics. The supervisor will be responsible for ensuring high-quality workmanship, timely project completion, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the auto workshop, including both mechanical and bodyshop departments.
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of technicians, including mechanics, denter supervisors, painters, and support staff.
- Schedule and assign work orders to technicians, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Monitor the progress of all repair jobs to ensure they are completed on time and to the highest standards.
Bodyshop Department Oversight:
- Directly supervise the bodyshop team, including the denter supervisor and painters.
- Ensure all denting, body repair, and painting work meets quality standards and customer expectations.
- Review and approve estimates for bodyshop repairs, including parts and labor.
Quality Control & Customer Service:
- Perform regular quality checks on completed work to ensure all repairs meet company standards and customer requirements.
- Address and resolve customer complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain clear communication with customers regarding repair status, costs, and timelines.
Operations & Administration:
- Manage workshop inventory, including parts, tools, and supplies, and place orders as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of all repair jobs, including labor hours, parts used, and costs.
- Ensure all equipment and tools are in good working condition and arrange for maintenance or repair as required.
Performance & Reporting:
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the workshop, such as job completion rates, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
- Prepare and present regular reports to management on workshop performance and operational challenges.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in an auto workshop environment.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role is essential.
- Strong and demonstrable experience in a vehicle bodyshop, including direct supervision of denters and painters.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of automotive Bodyshop, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of vehicle body repair, denting, and painting techniques.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in using workshop management software and computer applications.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
