Barista Supervisor

Overview

The Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters team at our Pittsford Plaza location is looking to add an experienced barista to become a supervisor on our team! We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, and willing to improve and grow with us! Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters is a fun, fast-paced job and our mission is to enrich everyday experiences and drive meaningful, lasting improvement, one cup at a time. For this position previous barista experience is required, previous supervisor/manager experience preferred. Pay range is expected to be between $17.50-$18.50 an hour, depending on experience, as well as hourly credit and cash tips.

Duties

• Supervise daily café operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of service
• Ensure that the daily, weekly, monthly timelines are completed and that the store is always clean and tidy
• Lead, train, and motivate baristas to deliver excellent customer service and consistent product quality
• Manage cash handling procedures using Square POS systems with accuracy and integrity
• Oversee food safety protocols, including proper food handling and food preparation practices
• Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and maintain stock of coffee beans, supplies, and retail items
• Ensure adherence to health regulations and safety standards across all food service activities
• Advise staff on the best ways to resolve issues with customers or other fellow coworkers
• Assist with serving customers directly during busy periods while maintaining a positive atmosphere for staff and guests
• ServSafe training will be required, paid training will be offered if not current

Skills

• Proven experience as a barista with strong coffee knowledge and customer service skills
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a café or retail environment
• Proficiency with POS systems such as Square for transactions and reporting
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
• Strong sales abilities with a focus on upselling and enhancing customer satisfaction
• Knowledge of food safety standards, food handling, and basic math for cash handling and retail math calculations
• Ability to effectively manage staff schedules, training sessions, and daily operational challenges
