Role Overview
Benefits and HRIS Administrator owns benefits administration, HR technology, and compliance reporting for a healthcare workforce in a hospital environment. This role supports clinical and non-clinical teams across departments and shifts, ensuring benefits execution and system infrastructure meet regulatory, operational, and employee experience standards in a 24/7 care setting.
Key Responsibilities- Administer benefits enrollment for nurses, physicians, advanced practice providers, allied health, and operational hospital staff
- Manage HRIS data integrity that supports clinical departments, job codes, shift classifications, and regulatory workforce reporting
- Execute open enrollment, life event changes, COBRA, and ACA administration with communication plans tailored to clinical shift schedules
- Reconcile benefits billing for large clinical populations, ensuring alignment between HRIS, payroll, and benefits vendors
- Generate compliance reporting for healthcare regulations including HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, and state and city healthcare-related requirements
- Manage system permissions and workflows that support clinical HR functions, secure employee data, and hospital reporting needs
- Train hospital employees and leaders on HRIS self-service, benefits platforms, and internal workflow updates
- Build dashboards that support hospital workforce insights including clinical staffing trends, benefits participation, and compliance metrics
- Serve as the primary benefits and HRIS contact for hospital staff across shifts
- Maintain audit-ready benefits and HRIS documentation that meets hospital compliance standards
Qualifications- 2+ years of benefits administration or HRIS ownership in a clinical or hospital environment
- Deep knowledge of HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, benefits billing, and healthcare compliance frameworks
- HRIS proficiency with experience managing secure workflows and high-volume clinical populations
