The Role

The Principal, BI acts as a key Subject Matter Expert, ensuring timely, accurate, and insightful reporting aligned with AMS Best Practices, client policies, and the Data Playbook. This role owns the delivery of complex reporting solutions and leads the maintenance of the central data model for supported accounts, guaranteeing consistency with established standards.

Working closely with the BI Manager, the Principal, BI proactively manages stakeholder expectations through clear and effective communication. They will scope, design, and implement enhancements to the reporting suite, driving quality and efficiency across all deliverables. Additionally, this role champions adherence to roadmaps, fosters continuous improvement, and provides mentorship to junior team members, promoting excellence in data-driven decision-making.

Key Accountabilities

Project Management

• Lead and manage BI projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
• Communicate project timelines clearly and proactively resolve issues impacting delivery.

Data Governance

• Implement and maintain data governance principles to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.

Reporting & Insights

• Develop and deliver comprehensive reports and presentations that effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
• Monitor and drive high reporting utilization by regularly assessing and updating the reporting suite for relevance and business alignment.
• Act on CSAT feedback to continuously improve reporting and exceed stakeholder expectations.

Quality Standards

• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, compliance, and impact in Insights operational delivery.

Data Model & Technical Debt Ownership

• Independently develop, maintain, and optimize central data models.
• Identify and deliver technical debt improvements, ensuring documentation and communication of optimization opportunities.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 7–9 years of experience in Business Intelligence.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Expertise in BI tools, data modeling, and reporting frameworks.
• Knowledge of data governance principles and compliance standards.
• Ability to analyse and optimize reporting processes for efficiency and impact.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
