Job Summary:
The Billing Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the entire billing process for interior fit-out projects — from verification of site measurements and BOQ alignment to preparation of client bills, subcontractor bills, and reconciliation with project and finance teams. The role ensures accuracy, compliance, and timely submission of all project-related billing documentation.
Key Responsibilities:1. Client Billing
- Prepare and verify RA (Running Account) bills as per project progress and BOQ.
- Ensure all measurements and quantities are accurately recorded and certified by the client or consultant.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Site Engineers for billing inputs and work progress updates.
- Prepare and submit final bills and ensure timely certification and approval.
- Track retention amounts, deductions, and variations in project scope.
2. Subcontractor / Vendor Billing
- Verify and process subcontractor bills as per work completion and agreements.
- Ensure bills are supported by measurement sheets, work orders, and material reconciliation.
- Maintain proper records for advance adjustments, retention, and recovery if any.
3. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain and organize billing records, work orders, BOQs, and rate analysis.
- Coordinate with the Accounts/Finance team for invoice generation and client follow-ups.
- Ensure all statutory compliances (GST, TDS, etc.) are correctly applied in bills.
- Reconcile client vs. internal billing to ensure consistency in reports.
4. Coordination & Reporting
- Liaise with project, procurement, and finance teams for accurate billing data.
- Prepare monthly billing status reports and cash flow projections based on progress.
- Highlight variations, change orders, and pending approvals impacting billing.
- Support audits and provide all billing-related data as required.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of BOQ, rate analysis, and quantity surveying.
- Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD (for quantity take-offs), and ERP systems.
- Attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical ability.
- Good communication and coordination skills across teams.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Educational Qualification:
- B.E. / B.Tech. (Civil / Interior) or Diploma in Civil Engineering / Interior Design
- Additional certification in Quantity Surveying / Contract Management preferred.
Experience:
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in billing, estimation, or quantity surveying within an interior fit-out or construction company.
- Experience with corporate interiors, retail, or commercial fit-out projects is highly desirable.
