Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic Mortgage finance team. This is a hybrid role allowing in office and at home office functions. You will work directly for owner/management In this vital role, you will manage the day-to-day financial record-keeping processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will support the organization’s financial health by maintaining precise records, reconciling accounts, and preparing essential financial reports. Duties

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Sage accounting software. Record daily bank deposits and mortgage transactions into Sage accounting software.
  • Perform general ledger entries daily.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions promptly and accurately.
  • Prepare journal entries, including debits & credits, to record financial transactions in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies or errors.
  • Assist with payroll processing
  • Support governmental accounting requirements and ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate on month-end closing activities, including account reconciliation and general ledger accounting tasks.
  • Contribute to internal audits by providing accurate documentation of financial transactions and account balances.Skills
  • Experience with Sage accounting software
  • Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and non-profit accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
  • Ability to perform detailed account analysis and prepare comprehensive financial reports.
  • Skilled in journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and account analysis procedures.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing using Paychex
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills for effective financial report writing and collaboration with team members.
  • Mortgage bookkeeping experience

Pay: $35.00 - $37.00 per hour
