Bookkeeper

Job Summary

The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day‑to‑day accounting tasks, and supporting the company’s financial operations. This role ensures timely and accurate recording of transactions, reconciliations, and reporting to support informed business decisions.

Duties

  • Record and categorize financial transactions in the accounting system (QuickBooks Desktop)
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and tuition management software.
  • Export monthly credit card statements, record each transaction, and categorize expenses accurately within the accounting system
  • Process accounts payable: enter bills, manage vendor payments, maintain vendor records
  • Prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, General Ledger)
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure proper documentation
  • Record and reconcile payroll journal entries
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax reports
  • Facilitate year‑end closing and coordinate with external CPA
  • Maintain organized digital and physical financial records
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting best practices

Requirements

2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience

Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks Desktop, Online Banking)

Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills

Familiarity with payroll systems (Paychex, ADP)

Skills

High attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information

Strong organizational and time‑management skills

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Manhattan Beach, CA 90266
