Bookkeeper / Office Administrator

Job Summary

We’re seeking a highly organized and personable Office Administrator / Bookkeeper to support day-to-day operations at our manufacturing and mill complex in New Bedford.

This role is a blend of administrative support and bookkeeping. While basic bookkeeping experience is important, we are willing to train the right candidate. Our ideal hire is someone who is positive, reliable, and enjoys helping keep an office running smoothly—someone who communicates well, follows through, and takes initiative while also working effectively as part of a team.

We are a small but growing team, and this role offers the opportunity to grow with the company and take on increasing responsibility over time. You will work closely with company leadership and have the support of experienced accounting and operations professionals, making this a great opportunity to learn and develop your skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with accounts receivable and payable
  • Enter invoices and payments in QuickBooks (Enterprise Desktop required)
  • Support payroll processing (ADP or similar systems)
  • Maintain organized digital and physical records
  • Assist with HR-related tasks such as onboarding and time-off tracking
  • Communicate with tenants, employees, and vendors in a professional and timely manner
  • Help review and track lease-related information
  • Track down receipts and documentation from team members
  • Answer phones, screen and route calls
  • Assist with general office coordination and occasional errands as needed
  • Help ensure smooth day-to-day office operations

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience*
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and Enterprise Desktop*
  • Experience with ADP or other payroll processing software*
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, helpful attitude
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable handling a variety of responsibilities in a small team environment
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and professional
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

*Bookkeeping experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with the right attitude and aptitude.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 32–40 hours per week
  • On-site in New Bedford, MA

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
