Business Analyst

Location : Karachi

Job Purpose

To lead the Business Analysis function, ensuring effective translation of business needs into technology solutions. The role oversees requirements management, process mapping, solution design, and stakeholder engagement to support enterprise systems, digital transformation, automation, and innovation initiatives. This role ensures business value realization through proper requirement gathering, documentation, and validation across IT, business and operation teams.


Qualification & Experience

  • 7-8+ years IT experience in full stack software development, business analysis and project management
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Information Technology / Computer Science / MIS
  • CBAP / CCBA
  • PMI-PBA
  • Agile certification (CSPO / CSM / ICP-BAF)
  • ITIL Foundation (nice to have)


Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Leadership

  1. Establish and lead the IT Business Analysis (BA) function and practices
  2. Develop BA frameworks, standards, templates, and methodologies
  3. Partner with senior leadership to shape digital and automation initiatives
  4. Align BA activities with enterprise architecture, PMO, and IT strategy

Business Requirements & Solution Design

  1. Lead requirement elicitation, BRD, FRD, SRS, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  2. Conduct feasibility studies, process mapping, gap analysis, and solution modeling
  3. Translate business requirements into technical specs for IT & vendors
  4. Ensure traceability between business needs and deployed solutions
  5. Develop plans (Requirement / Scope / Quality)

Project Delivery Support

  1. Work closely with PMO on project scoping, prioritization, and planning
  2. Support QA/testing teams by validating test cases against requirements
  3. Oversee UAT planning, execution, and sign-off with business stakeholders
  4. Govern change requests and requirement lifecycle management

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  1. Facilitate workshops and consultations with business and technical teams
  2. Manage expectations, scope, and communication with business units
  3. Collaborate with vendors & system integrators to ensure solution alignment

Process Excellence & Innovation

  1. Drive process improvement, automation, and digital enablement
  2. Introduce best practices (BPM, Lean, Agile BA, Design Thinking)
  3. Maintain BA knowledge base, business rules catalog, and process repository

Governance & Quality

  1. Ensure compliance with IT governance, audit and regulatory requirements
  2. Monitor BA performance through metrics, dashboards, and reviews
  3. Build and mature competencies in requirement management tools and standards

Key Skills & Competencies

  1. Strong understanding of SDLC & Agile frameworks
  2. Proficiency with BA tools: Visio, Jira, Confluence, BPM tools
  3. Experience with core enterprise systems: ERP, CRM, RPA/Automation, Data/BI platforms
  4. Requirements engineering & modeling (UML, BPMN, Wireframes, Use Cases)
  5. People leadership, team development, and cross-functional collaboration
  6. Excellent analytical and structured problem-solving ability
  7. Exceptional communication & documentation skills
  8. Strong facilitation, negotiation, and relationship-building
  9. High attention to detail, clarity, and process orientation
